PS5 Gamers Have New Game to Claim Completely Free of Charge

PS5 gamers have a new game available to claim at no additional cost through PlayStation Plus. Sony has expanded its August 2026 lineup with several new additions, giving subscribers more titles to add to their libraries this month.

The latest additions arrived on August 18 as part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. The lineup includes major releases alongside smaller games and classic titles. Players with eligible Extra or Premium subscriptions can access the new games without purchasing them separately.

Helldivers 2 Joins the PS Plus Lineup

One of the biggest additions is Helldivers 2, the popular cooperative shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios. The PS5 title puts players in the role of Helldivers fighting alien threats across hostile worlds.

Sony added the game to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog earlier in August. Its arrival also coincides with the launch of the game’s major Devoid of Liberty update.

Players can team up with friends and take on missions across the galaxy. The game supports cooperative play for up to four players. Friendly fire also remains active, making teamwork an important part of every mission.

More Games Available to PS5 Players

The August Game Catalog offers several other notable titles. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Vampire Survivors, and Hell Is Us are among the games joining the service. Each title brings a different style of gameplay to the PS5 library.

Sony has also added Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams and Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire to the Premium Classics Catalog. Both titles became available on August 18.

Players should remember that these games are available through PlayStation Plus rather than being permanently free purchases. Access continues while the subscription remains active and the games stay within the service.

For PS5 owners with an eligible subscription, however, the latest update provides several new games to explore without paying their individual retail prices.
